Description

For one of our ongoing multiyear projects we are looking for Web Developers that can work alongside our software application team to achieve our goals. The ideal candidates for these positions are hands-on professionals with a strong knowledge of content management platforms, and an ability to translate the business needs into client-friendly functions that will expand our website's influence at Madison College. These two positions will be responsible for helping with the updating of our current online applications.

 

We are looking for these two different profiles:

 

  • One front-end developer who does not need Drupal experience, but Drupal experience would be a plus. They would be able to take Photoshop mockups and translate them into HTML/CSS. This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The best candidates have a strong understanding of higher education trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. In addition, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is preferred.

 

  • One back-end developer who will primarily be responsible for back-end/module development. The back-end developer would be someone who would be able to write custom Drupal 9 modules. They would be able to port the existing integrations and add to them as needed.

 

Front-end developer

  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Extremely fluent with HTML, JS, and CSS
  • Experience working with a Style Guide
  • Experience working with PHP
  • Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.
  • Experience with Git as a version control system

Ma

Back-end developer

  • Experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment
  • Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture
  • Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as Views, Workbench, and     Webform.
  • Experience creating custom Drupal modules (preference of Drupal 8/9 knowledge)
  • Knowledge of the Drupal theme layer
  • Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.
  • Experience with Git as a version control syst

 

Must Have:

Experience performing Web Development related work

Demonstrable skills for website redesign project

Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
