For one of our ongoing projects we are looking for a Technical Project Manager to work from Durham, North Carolina.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings; open source experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with team members distributed across multiple countries and time zones
- Advanced risk and change management skills
- Advanced technical knowledge of and experience with software development
- Ability to facilitate dynamic and effective virtual meetings over the phone and internet
- Familiarity with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
- Ability to work well within a team and bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community setting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Practical expertise in using and understanding of Linux based operating systems and related technologies is a plus
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience with Atlassian Jira
- Experience with Agile methodologies (scrum and kanban)
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with team to develop and maintain plans and schedules for projects and releases
- Serve as a point of contact for all program activities, schedule, and status
- Effectively communicate to stakeholders and project team members to ensure proper visibility into development efforts
- Coordinate and lead team meetings
- Perform overall process management like approvals and prioritization
- Apply, develop, and improve both existing and new processes
- Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental or cross-functional teams
